Neil studied at catering college before going on to work in London’s hotels and events industry. With some considerable experience gained, he opened his own catering company, until he received an undeniable offer for his side of his business. During his first few years in the industry he entered a number of competitions and was named named Junior Chef of the Year for Chef & Brewer.

Neil applied to work for CH&Co on the advice of a friend already employed with the company. It came highly recommended and the Monday to Friday working week clinched the deal! Competition for the role was high and Neil went through an extensive trade test and tough interview to secure it.

Neil is grateful for these exacting standards though, as following the rigorous example of his Head Chef has helped him move from Chef de Partie to Senior Sous Chef. Neil loves his role because while his budgets are fixed, his creativity can run amok! He considers being able to plan and create his own menus, complete with specials, “a fantastic working day”.
